MGA national player, Ervin Chang won the Singapore Amateur Open Title today which went down as the first Malaysian to win in the modern history of the Championship. Ervin Chang was also one of the national players identified to play in the Asian Games to be held in August this year at Pondok Indah Golf & Country Club, Jakarta, Indonesia together with Adam Arif Madzri, Muhammad Afif Mohd Fathi, Rhaasrikanesh Kanavathi, Ashley Lau Wen Jen, Natasha Andrea Oon And Winnie Ng Yu Xuan.

Ervin carded 62, 68, 65 and 72 for a 13-under-267 tournament total, 5 strokes ahead of Singapore’s James Leow who carded a total score of 272. Chinese-Taipei’s Wei-Hsuan Wang finished third with a 272 tournament total. With this briliant win, Ervin earned a slot at the Singapore Open to be held in January 2019.

Malaysian Team comprised Ervin Chang and Muhammad Afif Fathi won the Team Event after scoring a combined score of 413 strokes ahead of Singapore who scored 416 strokes and Thailand who was third with 417 strokes.
